Jetpack makes no difference with static

I am trying to speed up my site. GT Metrix and others say that there are static elements to cache or defer loading. I’ve installed Jetpack and selected the Speed up static file load times option but it doesn’t make any difference at all.

What have I missed please?

I updated the JetPack plugin and now I can’t view my Publicize social media accounts.

When I go to My Site → Tools → Marketing → Connection – it’s blank, nothing shows on this page for me.

Anyone know how to resolve it?

Can’t set up Jetpack

Suddenly, articles are no longer shared on social networks. I turned off and on the jetpack and now I can’t perform the set up. I don’t get to the accept part, I press set up and it keeps on the same page.

Can you help me?

How often/quickly should automatic plugin updates occur?

I’ve recently enabled automatic plugin updates on 4 of my blogs and it seems like they aren’t automatically updating when a new update becomes available. I understand that only plugins in the repository/non-premium plugins can auto update, which all of mine are..
My dashboard shows updates available, and I am able to manually update them via the jetpack/WP management site, but it so far none have updated automatically..

So.. how quickly/how soon should I expect to see plugins update automatically when an update is made available?

I am a Jetpack Premium customer. But my problem has not been solved for 3 days. I have an ecommerce site and my sales stopped. I’m a very victim. The Jetpack team cannot solve the problem. Rest api is disabled for unknown reason

Confirmation email not received after subscribing

Hello

A user subscribed to receive updates via emails a month or two ago. She didn’t receive a confirmation email. she checked spam/junk email.

She told me today. She tried again and received no email confirmation.

I have checked with a test email account and a subscription confirmation was sent.

I’ve checked logs but can’t see anything in the logs I have access to.

Reading the forum and troubleshooting tips, I think only you can look at this? And you may need to reset the email address details if the person missed the first confirmation email.

Please can you help!

Related posts aren’t actually that related

Hello,

I recently published a post with a gallery of my 10 favorite photos from 2019 (it’s something like a tradition on photo blogs). When I look at the Related Posts shown under that article, they aren’t quite closely related to this article:

I thought I’d give the Related Posts thing/algorithm/magic 😛 “a little hint” and manually added links to the same posts from previous years, but it doesn’t change a thing. The Related Posts section stubbornly shows three of my “monthly end notes” which really, really are NOT very much related to the year-end-favorites kind of post, at list form my human point of view.

By comparison, here’s the same thing from 2018. It shows at least some other “favorites from…” articles as related, which is more what I would expect:

I’ve been noticing for a while now that (some of) the Related Posts seem to be rather random on my site, and it isn’t easy to understand how the tubes behind this feature determine WHY a post that shows up in there is considered related when from my point of view, it actually isn’t. Any clues what might be causing this?

Wrong url when sharing

Hi

I’ve unknowingly messed up sharing functionality when I duplicated some posts to reuse their layout.

Now, as an example, when people share this page (https://scanfoam.org/peer-review-pre-or-post-ioannidis/) they’re linking to this one (https://scanfoam.org/intelligent-information-systems-in-ohca/).

I’ve found how to avoid the issue going forward, but I need to fix the wrong ones that are live.

Is there a way to manually update the wrong urls or have jetpack update with the right slugs? I have full admin priviliges and access to db.

A part of jetpack plugin might not be licensed under the “GPL v2 or later”

The jetpack plugin is licensed under the “GPL v2 or later”.

But some files of the plugins might be licensed under the GPL v2 only.

– modules/carousel/jetpack-carousel.php (it says “Released under the GPL v.2 license.” only)
– modules/shortcodes/soundcloud.php (it is “Based on this plugin: https://wordpress.org/plugins/soundcloud-shortcode/” but the plugin says “License: GPLv2” only)
– modules/widgets/wordpress-post-widget.php (it says “License: GPL2” only)

Can we really use the jetpack plugin as GPL v3?

Jetpack scheduling wrong days

Hi, there,
My jetpack plugin works great, except for one small thing: when I try to schedule a post for, say, Saturday, December 21st at 4am, jetpack tells me the post is scheduled for Friday, December 20th at 8pm. This is not reflected in the calendar, which shows the correct day and time. The status bar says “Tomorrow (Friday) at 8pm.” This error happens to all of my posts.

If I try to schedule the post for 3pm Saturday, the post ends up scheduled for 7am Saturday. Is this just a timing issue? Do I need to adjust my time zone?

I haven’t published any of the posts yet, but it’s important to me that they go out at the time that I’ve scheduled at. I update my blog on Fridays and Saturdays, not Thursdays. One post, the post scheduled for Friday, says it’s scheduled to go up in fifteen minutes. This will be confusing to my audience.

Interestingly, my wordpress.com site, Cassandrastout.wordpress.com, does not have this issue, and is scheduling everything fine.

JetPack installation does not start

Installed and activated the JetPack plugin. Then he offers to “configure JetPack.” But after pressing this button, he thinks for a minute and nothing happens. On the same hosting there is another site where the configuration goes fine. So there are no problems with hosting. The Coralina Lite theme was downloaded from the admin panel, the plugins were disabled in turn and tried to install JetPack, nothing helped.
On other themes, it is also not installed, it has already deactivated / activated the plugin, uninstalled and installed in a new way. Nothing helps
Tell me, what to do?

Pinterest share button not working on mobile

When I press the Pinterest share button at the bottom of one of the pages on my site, the page essentially freezes and I can’t scroll up or down anymore. I get the feeling it’s pulling up the share window at the top of the page which is off screen from where the share button is… I obviously can’t verify that though. The share button works fine on desktop view. I have the “Icons only” option selected from the Jetpack settings. I’ve tried the different options as well, and the plugin is up to date. I don’t know how long this has been an issue. I believe it used to work. Any idea how to fix?

In my effort to optimize my website, I enabled php logging to record anything slower than 2s on the backend, and to my surprise Jetpack shows up even tho I have it disabled and uninstalled.

Jetpack 8.0 updating problem

Hi, updating Jetpack to 8.0, faced the following problem – the notice revealed “The add_submenu_page function was not called correctly. The seventh parameter passed to add_submenu_page () must be an integer representing the menu position”. As a result – no new content (published after updating) shown on the page. The only help from provider side – to restore the site from backup.

Errors in admin section with Jectpack active

When I have Jetpack activated the administration section produces many errors. It is very difficult to be able to enter the different sections (creation of entries, plugin administration …).

When I deactivate Jectpack the blog works normally.
