Site URL Change and Jetpack

Hello,

I have recently changed my site URL from https://www.backpackingseries.com to https://www.unakriti.com

WP Follow Button: Since the move, Jetpack is behaving strange. For instance, the debug option says ‘everything looks A-okay’ but the WordPress follow button has disappeared from the site. When I try to generate a new follow button (for the new URL https://www.unakriti.com) it throws up an error – “Please check you’ve entered the address of a WordPress.com or Jetpack-powered site and try again.”

Slow Jetpack Dashboard: The other thing is even though site stats, email subscribers, and WP followers are shown in the dashboard, it takes relatively longer to load the stats or the debug page. Besides, Akismet shows 0 spam blocked (old stats are not shown).

New eMail ID for Jetpack Connection: I tried to change the connected email ID too from the old to a new one. But then reverted – hoping to fix these issues. But it hasn’t worked. Ideally, I would like to change the eMail ID for Jetpack connection but without losing stats, email subscribers, or WP followers. Is it a straightforward thing to disconnect Jetpack and connect using a new new eMail or do i need to prep the site in any way?

Can someone please help / advise?

Hello everyone,

I have disabled completely “Stats” module, in Jetpack Debug mode, I have even tried to dequeue the JS loader in my functions.php ( https://github.com/Automattic/jetpack/blob/1898484115d4768952b0c0ceaf22553f71dff336/_inc/lib/admin-pages/class.jetpack-react-page.php#L188 )

Yet, the stats.wp.com/s-xxxxx.js script is still loaded on all pages of my website.
There is no cache involved.

Please tell me how to completely make Jetpack respect my wishes of NOT loading stats.wp.com tracking script on all pages.

Google Translate Widget

Hi, I have migrated my site from a test site to a production one. All I really did was to change the directory name and thus the URL.

However, seemingly as part of this, the Google Translate widget which I had in the sidebar had disappeared. The title still appears on the site but not the widget itself.

Looking at the Appearance / Widget piece, the widget is correctly located within the right sidebar. I have removed it and moved it back again, but to no avail.

Can anyone point me in the right direction as to why this might be? Google and a search on this site don’t help. I’m just wondering if in some way there is a required tie in to Google in the same fashion as they have for their maps.

customize the content of the subscription emails?

Hi,

I do not want to Limit feed to excerpt only for email subscriber that gets blog in email when published.

This was doable in wordpress.com, I don’t see the option in jetpack used with self hosted.

How can I achieve this?

Portfolio entry title is missing

I have spent an inordinate amount of time with JetPack portfolio feature as well as another portfolio plugin and I am reaching the conclusion that neither is a good idea. I will ask here about a couple of issues related to the JetPack portfolio feature.

I have a dozen or so portfolio projects added and can display them properly, well almost:

As you will see, the page display follows the theme archive page settings, BUT there is no entry title at the top and I cannot find a place where I can add it. Also, there is no way to add a short introductory paragraph like my manually created former portfolios page:

I also tried creating a page and using the shortcode with parameters which display the entry title but the portfolio entries, or project entries are displayed in a disorderly fashion using its own CSS rather than deferring to the theme CSS as the default portfolio page. To see this page remove the o from the end of the URL above making it read portfoli (I don’t want to give a link that will obviously disappear.)

Why is this made so complicated and convoluted? I can convert the portfolio entries to posts, put them in a category called “portfolio,” and display them as a category listing. I thought, erroneously, that using the portfolio feature would make it easier. Alas!

The portfolio feature could be far more useful if:

  1. It allowed the user to select the title of the page
  2. It had a place for arbitrary text on top of the portfolio presentation
  3. It honored the theme’s archive page format as the default portfolio page does, albeit with no title or opening text
  4. THe shortcode options were available within the Projects block on the dashboard rather than being buried somewhere online, I stumbled on it after several searches
  5. And, all these be accessible within the Projects block on the dashboard

Exporting blog followers

We have moved our blog subscribers to a new system and have successfully exported the email addresses listed under “email followers”. Is there any way to add the users listed under “followers”?

Alternatively, are we able to notify them somehow so that they subscribe manually to the new system?

Discrepancy in email followers count

When I view email followers, some of my blogs show a count for “email followers” that is clearly different to those listed below it.

Does anybody know why this is?

Jetpack has blocked my IP and I can’t login

Jetpack is blocking me from logging into my website, saying that it has blocked my IP address. Only the IP address stated is not mine. I clicked to an email sent to unlock the site, but the link goes to an error page.

Jetpack’s support has been non-responsive. I logged a support ticket 5 hours ago, marking it urgent and had no reply, nor is there any expectation set when they’d respond. So I’ve had plenty of time to research this problem and I learn it’s quite common where servers host multiple sites.

I’m using Sitelock, so is there a need to have Jetpack’s Protect feature turned on?

Any help anyone?

Site login blocking – and difficulty inserting it in whitelist

I’m having a problem signing in to one of the sites I run, onibusparaibanos.com. I try to enter through the site login, but it directs to a Jetpack lock screen. I noticed that other users are experiencing this same problem.

I joined the WordPress.com dashboard, and I can not enter the IP in the whitelist, as the rule would be, because the buttons are simply locked, even the whitelist itself, where I can not even paste the IP.

How else can this problem be solved? Thank you in advance for the answers.

Cannot find posts on reader feed for self hosted website

Hello,

Details:
I am new to WordPress. I had created a blog (website) before on wordpress.com for free. Later I decided to have my blog self hosted. I have written 2 posts on my blog. I have plugin Jetpack plugin set up on my self hosted blog.

Problem:
1) I cannot find my posts on reader feed on wordpress.com, How do I make sure my posts are visible to wordpress.com users?
2) I can find my blog (website) on Reader -> Followed sited-> Manage however I can see the same posts as multiple times. Is it because of editing the post?

Note:
My Jetpack was installed on self hosted site by accessing my wordpress.com account.
As far I have read in the forums Jetpack is the plugin which helps to connect with wordpress.com and helps to appear posts on reader feed.

Lazy loading not working with Gutenberg editor

Hi everyone,

Jetpack’s Lazy loading does not work on pages that have been published/edited with Gutenberg (Block editor). The images on those pages does not show at all. However, it is working on all other pages.

Any idea on how to fix this problem?!

Change style of subscribe now button in subscription widget from Jetpack

Can any of you tell me how i change the “subcribe now!” button on the subscribtion widget in my right menu in CSS?

I would like the button to have the same style (Blue color and white text as the test of the page)

What exact CSS should I use for this?

I have tried to use inspect but dont seem to be able to find the right thing.

Subscribers in Jetpack settings lost / emails lost

Dear all,

I have two questions:

1) On the jetpack guides here: https://jetpack.com/support/subscriptions/ it mentioned that I can customize content of my confirmation e-mail buy going to settings>Reading

I have the newest version and I only see performance, writing, sharing, discission, traffic and security. But I dont see the reading tab. Where is it?

2) I am using Jetpack with Supsystic popup to get subscribers. When they are subscribing from the popup it should be added to Jetpack automaticly, I get an e-mail with the persons e-mail but he is not added in wordpress nor jetpack. I have checked everywhere. What could have gone wrong?
