Jetpack locks image links to the CDN address, even if a site disconnects

Hi,
So I’ve created a new subsite.

And I had to do some maintenance and Jetpack got disconnected. (Which happens pretty often.)

But then when I reconnected my main site, my subsite still had the links to the Jetpack CDN images, which then didn’t exist. OR at least the links didn’t work.

I had to reconnect my sub site, turn off the site accelerator, then disconnect the sub site.

(The sub site is a staging site, so I didn’t want to have Jetpack connected…)

THis was awkward and worrying.

It would be better (in my mind) for Jetpack to deal with this is some more elegant way… Or be able to press a button that can check these things, and fix them?

I realise this may be a rare situation…

FetchNetworkError after removing www

I had the website using www version and I ask my host company to change so that can be used without www.

Everything was working fine except with Jetpack. All actions give me a FetchNetworkError.

I reinstall Really Simple SSL, WordPress and Jetpack. I even went to wordpress.com and remove the site.

But when I make a connection to jetpack it gives me http://www.autopneusmoita.pt instead of autopneusmoita.pt

And, I always get a FetchNetworkError

What can be done?

Jetpack Has Locked me Out

Dear Sir,

I am using BigRock.in to host my website, and using WordPress to build my website with Jetpack plug-in.

Problem 1

Apparently when I log into my website /wp-admin page it says

“Jetpack has locked your site’s login page.
Your IP address 209.99.16.94 has been flagged for potential security violations. You can unlock your login by sending yourself a special link via email. Learn More”

The IP shown above is not my, I believe it is my hosting website Name server ip address.

I know I can manually disable Jetpack Plug-in from my cPanel or add the above IP to white list via going to wordpress.com and under setting/security.

Problem 2

I have also notice that after adding the adding the above IP to white list and going to Jetpack Setting, under Security, I see that Jetpack setting is showing the above IP is as my current IP, which is wrong, while in WordPress.com, under my page setting and security, it shows the correct IP address.

Please address how to fix both problems.

Jetpack requires WordPress version 4.9 or later.

Since version 6.9, JetPack requires WordPress 4.9. However, the plugin info displayed at https://wordpress.org/plugins/jetpack/ and also fetched by the update checker indicates it is still compatible with WordPress 4.8. Upgrading with WordPress 4.8 thus fails.

Normally one should upgrade plugins before upgrading WordPress, to ensure that installed plugins will be compatible with the new version of WordPress before it is installed. However, this issue makes upgrading from WordPress 4.8 problematic.

Enable comments on custom post type

I use Portfolio module from Impreza theme. After installing Jetpack, there’s no more comment on Portfolio pages (post type is: us_portfolio) and there’s no Jetpack comment module also.

How can I enable comments on custom post type?

Premium plan: upload files direct to WordPress.com CDN

I suggest a Premium plan for Jetpack: direct uploading files to WordPress.com CDN without storing files on host.

I have a multisite with multi domains. And images are created on host are huge. I need an unlimited space for storing photos. Your wordpress.com CDN allow unlimited images so why don’t you supply a direct uploading to your CDN?

Cannot remove 4 images from CDN

Hi there,

One client has a court case about using 4 images on their website.
They didn’t know they could not be used. So they deleted them immediately from the media library but apparently they are not automatically deleted from the CDN cache.
Can we have help to have them removed or what are the options we have?

Thumbnails in tiled-gallery not showing after category rename

Hello,

I renamed a category of my site, and changed the slug also. Since then, and only in posts from this category, the thumbnails of my tiled-gallery (and related posts) are no longer displayed.

I know it’s related to the Photon cache link (site accelerator) that has not changed, even if it’s disabled (the tiled-gallery and related post also use photon links). But I changed, replaced the images … and it does not change anything.

Any other solutions?

Interferes with Crop Thumbnail plugin even if Jetpack is not set up (multisite)

I have a WordPress Multisite instance which has Jetpack network installed. But even on subsites that Jetpack is NOT set up on it seems to interfere with the ‘Crop Thumbnail’ plugin.

Thumbnails don’t show as cropped on the front end. If I disable Jetpack and use the plugin again it works.

I also tried the ‘My Eyes Are Up Here‘ plugin and found the same results.

I had not set up Jetpack, had not logged into WordPress.com and so had NO modules operational.

I have read previously that Jetpack CDN interferes with the plugins working, but without setting up Jetpack it seems odd that it would interfere.

Cookie Notice plugin conflict? Changes Analytics code

I have Cookie Notice installed on a site and just recently the Analytics code swas being changed – when I paste my Analytics tracking code into Script Blocking -> Head text area as follows:
<script async src="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-123456789-1">

I save, and it changes it to:
<a href="https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-123456789-1">https://www.googletagmanager.com/gtag/js?id=UA-123456789-1</a>

Disabling Jetpack seems to have solved the issue, but that’s not an ideal solution.

This is the second plugin I have found that has a problem with Jetpack being activated even when no modules have been set up.

Site reporting own IP to Jetpack

Hi, I’ve searched for solutions, but I can’t find anything that I can do on my end.

I am locked out of my login with the following screen:
“Jetpack has locked your site’s login page.
Your IP address 108.167.164.118 has been flagged for potential security violations. You can unlock your login by sending yourself a special link via email. Learn More”

After some forum searching it seems I have the same issue as others, but I cannot see a solution.

If I go to https://whatismyipaddress.com/hostname-ip and check my website, sunriverhoney.com, I can see that it is hosted on 108.167.164.118. So the server IP is being reported to Jetpack and that is why I am locked out.

How can I get back in though!?

I’m seeing the following error in my debug log:

PHP Notice: Trying to get property ‘post_type’ of non-object in /wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sync/class.jetpack-sync-module-posts.php on line 151

Any idea what might be causing it, and is it something I should be concerned about?

There is an error that keeps happening on my website.

“There was an error when subscribing. Please try again.”

It happens when I try to enter my own email address and when two other people have tried to subscribe to my website. Any ideas?

Locked out of website by Jetpack, get error when trying to access

I got locked out and blocked by Jetpack, then when i get the email to regain access i get this error:

{“error”:”Bad Request”,”message”:”Invalid input.”}

Too much content shared on facebook

I’m using Jetpack to automatically share evrey new posts from my blog to Facebook page. The problem is, your plugin share too much content. I write recipes so the contents are not much long. Please tell me how can I show less text on facebook post description OR how can I add a custom text there. Thank you

EDIT: I’ve just found the Publicize setting under post. Is there a way to setup the same custom text for every posts without having to write a Publicize every time?

lazy loading – Images not loading

Dear Support,

on my woocommerce store i am using the plugin Berocket AJX Products filter.
This plugin helps me filter my store on colors, tags etc.

When Jetpack is enabled, the images do not show anymore if i select a product filter.
I have asked this same questions at my Theme support, and they told me this has something to do with the lazy loading function of Jetpack. See forum topic here: https://www.8theme.com/topic/berocket-ajax-product-filter/

I am using the XStore theme.

Currently the Jetpack plugin is disabled.
Can you please tell me how to fix this? How do i enable Jetpack and keep my images working?
