Carousel: commenting error, render bug

Hello,

I’m having problems with Carousel:

1. trying to leave a comment in slideshow view results in an error message, displayed in red: “An error has occured. Please try again later.” – commenting on the site works otherwise (including commenting on “attachments”)

2. when scrolling down to reveal the comment box, the “underlying” blog post appears behind the comment boxes.

I tried this with Firefox, Opera (Chromium) and Internet Explorer, and the result is the same in all three browsers.

I can’t get showposts to work to display the portfolios on a self hosted website using Blask & Jetpack. I don’t know if this is a Blask or a Jetpack issue but I can’t find where to change this setting and the shortcode doesn’t work.

Changing Account Connection

I was reviewing my Dashboard and realized that the Account Connection is with a defunct email account. One that has been dead for literally years. How can I change that account? I went to WordPress.com and looked at my account, but didn’t find anyplace that I could change this information. I couldn’t get help through JetPack’s site, as it kept telling me that I wasn’t logged in, even though I was…

Are Photon images able to be viewed by anyone who has the url?

I have a private site that needs all the video and photo uploads only to be view-able by logged in users.

If I activate Photon, will the remotely served images etc on your servers be able to be viewed by anyone with the url?

Will the images etc be indexed by Google?

The new colors and the day range

First, who on earth picked the fuschia color for the selected date bar? It is a bit too harsh on the eye, at least my eye. Yes, different tastes, but fuschia?

Second, why do I see different date ranges for the same account when viewed in Chrome and Firefox? And, in one case, the date range in Chrome is truly bizarre.

Here they are, first the strange date range in chrome, the current date is in the middle:

JetPack 6.9 Incompatible with PHP 7.2

Hi,

I have a website that is hosted by Flywheel. When I ran the site compatibility scan to see if it is compatible with PHP 7.2, I received an “INCOMPATIBLE” error message for JetPack (see below). I have upgraded to version 6.9, and I do not understand the message below. The forums I’ve scanned through said it would not be a problem for version 6.8, so I’m assuming it would be okay with version 6.9. Can someone please review the message and let me know if JetPack will be compatible with PHP 7.2? Thanks.

400 Errors on some images

Hello,

Some images (always the same) are throwing a 400 error, when when Lazy image is enabled.

If you load https://fun-arcade.com, you will notice at the bottom, section “Most Popular”, that “Wheely 8” is not loaded (reload it several times if it doesn’t show up)

Can you please help ?

Can’t Access Permalinks due to Jetpack Error

If I try to access my Permalink settings I get this following error:

Fatal error: Out of memory (allocated 96468992) (tried to allocate 786432 bytes) in /****/*****/public_html/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/locales.php on line 1512

Is there a fix available?

Hello,

I tried logging into your website to ask this question but for some reason, it’s not working. It logs me in but then tells me that I’m not logged in.

Anyway, here’s the issue:

When I want to upload avatar, I click on upload file, it uploads it and then just displays a black dot instead of the image that I have to crop. When I deactivate your plugin and try to upload the same avatar, it works properly.

Here are the images of when it works and when it doesn’t.

I hope you’ll be able to help me because I love your plugin but if the users can’t upload their profile pics I’ll have to deactivate it.

Spell check not working in jetpack

The spell check symbol does not appear in the visual editor. I’ve set it to check in settings, but there is nothing there. I have the latest version of WordPress and severall sites. It’s the same in all sites. The spellcheck is simply not showing up when I’m writing a post

A lot of false email about sites that are not loading

Hi, during this weekend I recieved a lot of email about several sites, hosted on different servers in Italy, that were not loading.
That was not true. They were all up!
I am not blocking any of your IP’s or xmlrpc. Nothing is changed on those sites.

Comments are not going through

Hello,

I am using the Affinity theme and I’ve now come across an issue with JetPack and comments. Comments are not going through nor are they going into Pending, Spam, or Trash. They are just disappearing. I had to deactivate JetPack in order for the comments to go through.

Yesterday, I deactivated all the plugins and then activated all but JetPack and Akismet. I was able to send comments with these two deactivated. Then I activated them and thought the problem was resolved because I was able to submit comments. Today, I have a new post and the comments are not working.

images, Jetpack CDN & breaking Lightboxes

Recently, the lightbox I am using on my site is no longer working unless I am logged in as an administrator.

In this thread (Everlightbox – Needs to be logged in) you can read the steps that I have taken in order to figure out what is going wrong.

I’ve changed themes, lightboxes and disabled plugin after plugin. All to no avail. My latest test leads me to the conclusion, that the issue is a result of the WordPress/Gutenberg/Jetpack combination.

In this temporary post, I added a Classic Block and inside that I put both an image and a Jetpack Tiled Mosaic Gallery.

After logging out, I observe the following:

Firefox – Mac: image shows no lightbox, gallery shows lightbox;
Chrome – Mac: image shows no lightbox, gallery shows lightbox;
Safari – Mac: image shows no lightbox, gallery shows lightbox;
Opera – Mac: both image and gallery show lightbox;
Opera – Windows: image shows no lightbox, gallery shows lightbox.

Please, help.

People who access the site are reporting that they are getting am Error message when trying to subscribe. Some people also are not receiving the confirmation email. The subscription option is via Jetpack.

Jetpack Development Mode vs Gutenberg

Using Jetpack Development Mode in a Virtual Machine to try to test the Tiled Mosaic Gallery feature. Unfortunately TMGs can only be inserted in Classic Blocks and not in the new Gutenberg blocks.

Will this ever be possible or is this just another one of those things in Jetpack we have to learn to live with?

Error activating jetpack

Hello everybody,

I dispute wordpress 5.0.3 with the theme twenty fourteen.
I have a problem installing jetpack.
I can install the plugin, but as soon as I click on activate, I get an HTTP 500 error and can not get in the backend of my page!

Now I have restored the page by backup!
Also with the second attempt of an activation the same error!

Does anyone have a hint on what to do?

Missing setting/functionality in Jetpack Portfolios on site not on WordPress.com

Reposted for clarity since all of the answers were related to WordPress.com and I am not using WordPress.com with jetpack.

I am not using WordPress.com.

I know that the following works on WordPress.com. It works great. I am not using WordPress.com

I am using a self hosted site, the blask theme and the jetpack portfolio. Under settings->writing, I do not have the option to change the number of portfolio items.

Shortcode also does not appear to work.

I am not using WordPress.Com.

An answer regarding Jetpack portfolio settings on a site that is not on WordPress.com would be appreciated! 🙂

can’t connect social sharing on jetpack to my site

Hello i installed Jetpack to my site
and when i want to connect facebook, twitter etc…
it give me this message
500 status code for “POST /sites/157155454/publicize-connections/new”
Can someone help me out please
i tried several times but it give the same message
it also give a red sign (in wordpress in the “my sites” row) telling me
that it can’t access the site
What should i do please
(i saw a post about it giving an operation to do
from the command line, but i don’t know where is the command line)
