Single Opt In

Hi Team,

I am using Jetpack Subscription Form for mailing list which follows Double Opt-in method, that means user has to confirm the email by going into the inbox.

Is there any option to change it to single opt-in wherein user does not have to confirm follow. Thank You.


Jetpack setup error [HTTP 500]

I just setup my WordPress site and immediately received an error message when I tried to setup Jetpack: “The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site http://trotandmunch.com [HTTP 500]. Ask your web host if they allow connections from WordPress.com. If you need further assistance, contact Jetpack Support: http://jetpack.com/support/”

I contacted iPage, the server provider, and they were very unhelpful. The rep suggested I just find an alternative Plugin lol. I disabled all plugins, removed the custom theme and deleted and reinstalled Jetpack without success.

Here is the last report from the server error log:

Paid “Jetpack Backup (Daily)” service unable to restore site

A few months ago I purchased the “Jetpack Backup (Daily)” service. Today, I have reason to believe that my site got hacked. At any rate, it doesn’t work, so I want to restore it from my latest backup.

When I try to restore it though, it either ends up with an error message saying “can’t be restored” and recommends me to contact the support, or it get stuck at 0% for hours.

Why can I not restore the site from the paid backup service? And how would you recommend me to use the downloaded archived “jetpack-rewind” file to restore manually?

Stats missing after server move

My site stats are missing after moving hosts and relinking jetpack. How do I correct this? I checked the database options and I’m logged in with the same user name as the original site.

Can’t See Email Followers/Blog Subscribers

In wp-admin of my WordPress site, I go to the Jetpack plugin which is active, then I go to Settings > Discussion > Subscriptions (at the very bottom).

I am not a paying user of Jetpack by the way.

All of the following are turned on:
– Allow users to subscribe to your posts and comments and receive notifications via email
– Show a “follow blog” option in the comment form
– Show a “follow comments” option in the comment form

Then, below all of that is a link: “View your Email Followers”

When I click on that link, it takes me to basically a blank page:

“You don’t have any WordPress sites yet.
Would you like to start one?
Create Site”

But, we definitely have a site: https://www.icarepharmacy.ca

So yea, I’m at a loss. After doing what I thought was needed to view blog subscribers, I’m not finding anything that at all resembles that list. Someone please help. Thank you.

Jetpack has locked your site’s login page.

I received the “Jetpack has locked your site’s login page.” From the admin panel of WordPress and jetpack, I got frustrated and deleted jetpack. Now, even though I can theoretically able to login to the wp-admin page through my server, Cloudways, I cannot actually do so because I get the same “Jetpack has locked your site’s login page” screen and cannot do the email fix or whitelist on the admin page fix because I have deleted Jetpack. How do I fix this?

I was a Jetpack subscriber until tonight. I will redownload it when I can. I deleted it in frustration with this error but should not have done so. The problem is different from other errors of this type because I deleted Jetpack before trying to whitelist my IP address. Also, the IP address it shows, 162.158.62.239, is not my IP address nor is it the public IP address of my server.

When editing, JetPack Publicize asks to reconnect social accounts

Publicize has been working fine until last night. This message suddenly shows when editing a post:

Before you hit Publish, please refresh the following connection(s) to make sure we can Publicize your post:
Refresh connection with Facebook

I refreshed connection, according to steps in your documentations, i.e disconnect, delete WordPress from Facebook Business, and reconnect.

But the error message persists. Twitter and Linkedin also reports the same in the editing screen. But I disconnected them all to simplify testing.

In the JetPack Publicize configuration page, it clearly shows Facebook is Connected. The error only shows in the editing screen, when editing a post.

Failure to Connect to Jetpack

Hi!

At the moment my site says it cannot connect to jetpack. No errors come up and it still allows me to make a new post and such, but it doesn’t list any comments, posts, or pages in the jetpack area and it says the site is disconnected to jetpack. As there is no error and when I troubleshoot it doesn’t seem to run into any obvious problems… Not sure what to do?

Remove ‘customize buttons’ from share on front end

Other than adding ‘hacky’ CSS to hide it, there seems no way to remove the ‘customize buttons’ link from showing to admins on frontend share buttons. It breaks layouts, and frankly would never be used.

Are there any plans to add an option to remove this text?

Unable to communicate with the website

I am having this issue I have even contacted the support team but still facing the issue. I have even talked to my host and they are saying everything is good from our side. I don’t know what to do.

Connection timed out when trying to access the Jetpack console

I have not been able to access the Jetpack console to manage my backups for at least one week now. I have tried different devices, browsers and incognito but nothing helps. Both jetpack.com and cloud.jetpack.com are not responding.

I have the same issue with several websites that are running at different hosting providers. As soon as I click Backup & Scan from the admin console menu in WordPress the page is loading forever and after a while I get “ERR_CONNECTION_TIMED_OUT”.

It was working well for all of my sites before.

What can I do to debug this issue more?

I moved a website from one domain to another. Is it possible to move the Jetpack statistics from the old domain to the new one? Or does this require a paid service? If it does require a paid service, which service is required?

Jetpack PHP Fatal Error

I’m getting a fatal error when I have Jetpack activated for some reason. The problem started suddenly around January 19th. Jetpack for have an error and trigger WordPress to only be accessed in recovery mode.

Jetpack has to be deactivated in order for the website to work.

Missing Stats and Followers

I copied my production website to a staging environment to test a plug-in. When I went back to my production site, it stated that Jetpack was running in safe mode. I thought if I went back to staging and inactivated the plug-in that the issue would resolve. Bad guess on my part.
Tried to re-connect Jetpack in production but used the wrong email address and it tried to create a new account.
I’ve restored production from a backup (both files and database) and reconnected Jetpack using the correct email/WP account. But I have no past statistics or followers.
Anyway to get those recover that data, especially the followers?

Ciao a tutti, sono recentemente passato da un blog ospitato su wordpress.com a un sito self-hosted su wordpress.org. Nel passaggio le statistiche delle visite relative ai miei articoli, ovviamente, si sono azzerate partendo da capo. C’è la possibilità di recuperare i vecchi dati in modo che automaticamente io oggi sia in grado di vedere quante visite ha avuto complessivamente un mio articolo? Intendo dire, il numero di visite che comprende sia quelle fate sul sito nuovo che su quello vecchio?

Blank Jetpack

Like button and comment like button says “loading” on self hosted site

Hi!
The button that shows my likes from WordPress.com reader always says “loading”. Please see the bottom of this post:

The comment section shows “loading” beside the blue stars as well. The Like button shows up fine when I use the WordPress.org Customizer to edit my site. It dissapears when I publish it. The issue always existed since I started my site a month ago.

I tried deactivating the Jetpack plugin and reconnecting it. I also contacted the support team for the theme that I use, as well as my hosting platform, to see if there are any external reasons. The problem wasn’t solved. They said it seems to be the plugin’s issue.

Following the advice from other forums, I tried deactivating every single other plugin one at a time to see which one was causing the problem. However, I deactivated all plugins and cleared the cache but the Like button was still not working. Please help!! Thanks~
