At the end of the survey, just the shortcode shows up for the jetpack contact form. Any ideas what could cause this? I have a jetpack contact form working fine on the home page outside of QSM.

Jetpack Installation Error, Order Payment Always Fails, Shipping Inconsistent

Hello,

I am editing the back end of a client’s webpage, mysteriousmeats.com, and we have run into some problems. So far, every time a customer has tried to order an item off of our website the order has failed. Also, the shipping calculator is inconsistent.

The webpage is built with WooCommerce plugins that interact with the “Jetpack by WordPress.com” plugin in order to create an ecommerce website selling and shipping items to customers. Here is a screenshot of all the plugins currently in use with the website: https://www.dropbox.com/s/w07dnvm5znppnbr/MMeats%20Plugins.JPG?dl=0

Every failed order (which is every order so far) gets this error message:

Array
(
[0] => stdClass Object
(
[category] => AUTHENTICATION_ERROR
[code] => UNAUTHORIZED
[detail] => This request could not be authorized.
)

)
Order status changed from Pending payment to Failed.

Specifically, this is what a failed order looks like: https://www.dropbox.com/s/juhx0zluq8exggu/Failed%20Order%20ED.jpg?dl=0 - Note the error message under "Order Notes" on the right. ALL the failed orders have this error message.

And while testing shipping I have gotten several different results. Each order was exactly the same, but 1st test it said shipping was $7.60, and that was the only option. 2nd test it gave me three options, First class at $2.60, Priority at $8.35, and Priority Express at $27.50. 3rd test it only gave me 2 options Priority at $8.35, and Priority Express at $27.50. Here are screenshots for each of those tests: https://www.dropbox.com/s/dnsyj2tstyc5b0t/First%20Desktop%20Calculate%20Shipping.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/vz59b1zkyeu5p0l/Second%20Desktop%20Calculate%20Shipping.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/38r8poxe1bcbysd/Third%20Desktop%20Calculate%20Shipping.JPG?dl=0

When I first started looking into this problem Jetpack was giving me an error (Screenshots: https://www.dropbox.com/s/p8fhhbhiyl5xarg/Jetpack%201.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/o988wflr27m4q7n/Jetpack%202.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/zu0t8589zismdrj/Jetpack%20Install%20Error.JPG?dl=0 ). I uninstalled and reinstalled Jetpack several times and it eventually seemed to install, but it's still giving me error messages, Jetpack Debugging Center says it detects an error, and orders are still failing.

I have been going through all the troubleshooting instructions in the Jetpack Debuging center, but the problems still persist. However, the Jetpack Debugging Center now says "Your Jetpack setup looks a-okay!" - and yet the problems with failing orders and inconsistent shipping still persist.

1. I did not find anything that looked like my problem on the provided "known conflicts" list.
2. I tried turning off all plugins except for "Jetpack by WordPress.com", "WooCommerce", "WooCommerce Square", and "WooCommerce USPS Shipping" since those were the minimum needed to actually submit an order, but I got the same error.
3. The current theme is Deli: A Storefront Child Theme. I got the same error when switching to 2019 AND 2017 default themes. (Screenshots: https://www.dropbox.com/s/yfivxvpqn4e9jwx/2019%20Theme%20Test.JPG?dl=0 https://www.dropbox.com/s/sju09gzgsg8c7l9/2017%20Theme%20Test.JPG?dl=0 )
4. The XMLRPC File seems to check out (Screenshot: https://www.dropbox.com/s/0kpbx9xm9u6jq76/XMLRPC%20File%20Screenshot.JPG?dl=0 )
5. I have disconnected and reconnected to WordPress.com a few times.

I can also send my full debug information, if needed, as I did when I submitted a request to Jetpack.com support team.

Can someone please help me fix this problem?

Thank you in advance for your help!
~ Katherine W.

Jetpack version 7.5.1 has an fatal error when logging in as an editor at our test domain.

We have a live / production domain at deslotenmaker.com and a test / development domain at test.deslotenmaker.com which runs Jetpack in safe mode.

Related Posts not showing up

Hi. My related posts are not showing up in my site anymore. It worked just fine 2 weeks ago.

The related posts’s toggle is active both in the settings and theme custom dashboard. Actually the related posts show up just fine in the theme custom dashboard and the div for it is there in the site (I checked in Google Console), but even tho the content does not appear.

I have already tried to clear up my cache, deactivate and reactivate the feature, change my theme, re-sync and debug my site within Jetpack. None of it solved the issue.

What else could I try?

Thank you.

Jetpack: WordPress UI won’t load after 7.5.1 update

After updating to 7.5.1 our WordPress UI won’t fully load (loads the left column nav, but anything content-related won’t load on the right side). We’re on PHP 7.3.

An error of type E_ERROR was caused in line 318 of the file /home/public_html/(domain removed for this post)/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack-idc.php. Error message: Uncaught Error: Class ‘Automattic\Jetpack\Logo’ not found in /home/public_html/(domain removed for this post)/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack-idc.php:318 Stack trace: #0 /home/public_html/(domain removed for this post)/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/class.jetpack-idc.php(238): Jetpack_IDC->render_notice_header() #1 /home/public_html/(domain removed for this post)/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(286): Jetpack_IDC->display_idc_notice(”) #2 /home/public_html/(domain removed for this post)/wp-includes/class-wp-hook.php(310): WP_Hook->apply_filters(NULL, Array) #3 /home/public_html/(domain removed for this post)/wp-includes/plugin.php(465): WP_Hook->do_action(Array) #4 /home/public_html/(domain removed for this post)/wp-admin/admin-header.php(281): do_action(‘admin_notices’) #5 /home/public_html/(domain removed for this post)/wp-admin/plugins.php(479): require_once(‘/home/…’) #6 {main} thrown

I renamed my plugins folder, then named it back to deactivate the plugins, then activated them one-by-one, activating Jetpack last. Everything worked fine until I activated Jetpack, then the same error happened again. FWIW, it does not happen on my local dev server with identical plugin setup, versions, etc. (except using PHP v. 7.3.6).

Won’t Install

Title says all.

And no, I am not happy. First of, I spent over 14 hours struggling with what should be a one click install, or a one click support request. But no. Your website demands a stupid wordpress.com account, which I don’t want to have, as I am happy with my ORG, but the site won’t allow .org users, paying or not, to contact you unless we have a .com account. What gives? Please make it a bit easier for us the org people contacting you.

Second, I chose a theme for my site that DEMANDS Jetpack. I only use the portfolio function and since this one failed to install, I guess I installed about every OTHER portfolio plugin out there (all dully removed by now), because this one won’t install no matter how much I pray or do a voodoo in front of the PC. But the theme only wants this one.

Collecting errors, I have had everything under the sun that is over the internet. 503, “Failed to write file to disk” (when I tried to install through the ZIP file), failed to install, “Installation failed: The package could not be installed”, “The package could not be installed. The plugin contains no files.” etc, etc, etc.

In time: the only OTHER plugin I have there is the TinyMCE collection which were DISABLED during the second attempt in case they could be generating conflicts.

It’s not the theme either. I had 8 at a point and tried to install with all of them to no avail.

thanks.

Jetpack Cookies and Consent banner leaves line on page

I seem to be having the exact same problem as this user:

https://wordpress.org/support/topic/jetpack-cookies-and-consent-banner-leaves-line-on-page/

I’ll quote them:

“After clicking to accept cookies on the Jetpack Cookies and Consent banner, a thin grey line is left at the bottom of the screen which remains in the same place on the screen when the window is scrolled up. It doesn’t seem to matter in which widget area the banner is inserted, it’s always in the same place.”

I’ve turned off all plugins, and it hasn’t made a difference. Switching to the Twenty Nineteen solves the issue, so it appears to be something to do with the theme.

I’m running an adapted version of the Bootstra.386 theme by Chris McKenzie (converted to WordPress by Sal Ferrarello) using the Genesis Framework.

I’ve made a couple of CSS tweaks, but the issue is still present when I roll back my tweaks.

Any ideas what I’m missing?

Feature Request: A Toggle Button to ‘Offload Media Library’

Hello,

I hope this is the right forum to make a new feature request.

Three months ago, I initiated a project to test leveraging Photon to ‘offload’ the media library to WordPress dot com servers. Jetpack support team confirmed here that the approach I took is okay. The test is successful and I have rolled out the changes to production.

This approach has saved our site about 500% disk space resulting in quick backups, faster security scans, and better loading speed for site visitors.

I wonder whether this option could be included in a future release of Jetpack as a toggle button to say,

Offload Media Library

? The toggle could activate a standard WordPress filter to disable thumbnails on the server, while Photon takes care of the rest (scaling images on-the-fly, delivering WebP images, etc.).

WordPress Filter to Disable Thumbnails (Credit: StackExchange)
add_filter( 'intermediate_image_sizes', '__return_empty_array', 999 );

Kind regards,
