Users Versus Subscribers

Right now: I have e-mail subscriptions for my blog through JetPack. I’ve been using this for years and it works great.

Next: I want to create a form so that people can contact me to ask for business through a form. I want people to be able to put in one or both of their e-mail and their phone number and send me a message about what they want to talk about. I would like to give people the option to click a box to additionally signup for the blog.

What I’ve Done: I started creating a Jetpack form for this. I was reading how to auto-fill fields so I think I can do at least 95% of what I want to do (hopefully 100%, but I’m still new to the Jetpack forms).

Future: I want to eventually provide extra content to e-mail subscribers. I was thinking of having hidden content that only subscribers (or users?) can access.

Questions:
1. Should I convert all my Jetpack subscribers to WordPress Users with the Subscriber Role?
2. If I do this, is there a plugin that sends them e-mail the way that Jetpack currently does?
3. Or, is there a way to maintain both lists and somehow integrate them?
4. Any other helpful advice on creating users versus keeping a subscriber list?


Errors in the auto post on Facebook

Good evening, first apologies for my bad English, I’m Spanish.

For a couple of months now, JetPack has been failing me to auto share the posts of my different blogs on Facebook.

I have all the pages in my Facebook account (a single account with several fanpages), and all fail except the last one I gave permission. The others do not work.
However I have a Facebook account with a page for one of my blogs and it works perfectly.

The problem is because I have many pages with authorizations to Jetpack from the same Facebook account and fails? Or what can be the problem?

I link and confirm the connection of the facebook page with the JetPack account of each blog …

Or would I have to make a single JetPack account for all my blogs and in each Blog authorize a single page from the same JetPack account?

Can you help me?

This plugin failed to load properly and is paused during recovery mode.

An error of type E_COMPILE_ERROR was caused in line 3 of the file …/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/_inc/lib/class.media.php. Error message: require_once(): Failed opening required ‘…/wp-content/plugins/jetpack/sal/class.json-api-date.php’ (include_path=’.:/opt/cpanel/ea-php56/root/usr/share/pear’)

I’m deactivating the plugin but would love to see a fix for this asap. Thanks

Blog Subscriptions not working.

Hello! I hope I’ve found you well.

While I don’t have a whole lot of subscribers right now, the ones I do have are in my close circle of friends. they told me that they subscribed, they received the confirmation of the subscription, but do not receive e-mail updates when I upload a new blog post. I myself subscribed for troubleshooting purposes but it doesn’t seem to e-mail me either. Any fixes or ideas for how to get this running?

NO JETPACK,STILL Jetpack has locked my site’s login page

I dont use JETPACK, but I still get “Jetpack has locked your site’s login page”. Even I turned off “Prevent Brute Force Attack” in wordpress dashboard. Whats the issue here. Its really disgusting. I cant get into my wordpress admin panel.

Some of the images on my site are not showing. It has this i0.wp.com at the start of the link.

I tried ways on how to fix it but nothing happened. I even tried deactivating and uninstalling Jetpack but the issue still remains.

Can you please help me resolve this?

Hello. I wanted to ask you that WP Cron.php needs to be Enabled? If we eanted to use jetpack for sending emails to subscribers?

If we Disabale Wp Cron. So will jetpavk still sends an email after Publishing a new Post

I’m using JetPack Contact Form as well as I have Akismet.
My problem is every day I received much spam on the feedback section in the spam tab.
How to avoid them?
(my comment section is almost empty of spam)

Lazy load images with AJAX load

The page linked above, I have my blog posts listed. They are in a pagination scheme where the next pages are appended to the page on click of a button.

The problem is that the images in the newly appended blog post aren’t loaded when lazy load is enabled. When it’s disabled, the images load fine.

What is the work around for this? I have tried triggering a ‘post-load’ event as suggested by this stackoverflow answer.

Mysterious errors in error logs

Hello, it’s been a few months (maybe going back as far as February) that I have been seeing these errors in the logs. Can’t quite figure out what’s going on. Here are the error messages:

Brute Force Attacks

Why does Jetpack brute force attack protection always get my external IP wrong and block my access to my own site?
I have added my external IP address to the whitelist and still get blocked.
I have added the IP address Jetpack “thinks” (for whatever reason it thinks 162.144.20.109 is my external IP address, but it is not) is my external IP address to the whitelist and still get blocked. This does not appear to be working properly guys and its been like that for months and its quite annoying. Get you act together guys and offer protection only against those we need to be protected for not the owners of the sites themselves.

Hi. I’m having a bit of trouble with Jetpack. I’ve been getting “This site cannot be accessed” for a long time.

I’ve done the debugging step and it says:

XML-RPC is not responding correctly ( 200 )

I’ve run:

curl -A 'Jetpack by WordPress.com' -d '<methodCall><methodName>demo.sayHello</methodName></methodCall>' https://librecron.com/xmlrpc.php, which then returns:

Site stats can not be used by custom roles

I am having the exact issue described in this previous ticket:

I created some custom roles with the Members plugin. If I configure Jetpack site stats settings to allow reports to be viewed by one of those custom roles I get a message that the settings were updated. However, when I refresh the page the custom role is no longer selected.

Allowing default roles to view stats works.

The difference in my case is that Jetpack Debug says everything is ok.

Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site

After updating Jetpack I needed to configure it from the start but it fails each time and give me this:
The Jetpack server was unable to communicate with your site https://adrianiwanowski.eu [IXR -32300: transport error: http_request_failed cURL error 7: Failed to connect to adrianiwanowski.eu port 443: No route to host]

Jetpack breaks Analytics statistics

I want to use the CDN service in Jetpack. I disabled every module in the debug section except the two CDN ones. Jetpack somehow blocks Google Analytics for us, we are using the WooCommerce Google Analytics Integration plugin.

Can’t manage plugins after update

Hi there, I manage a number of self-hosted sites with Jetpack. I recently updated a few of my sites to WordPress 5.2.1, and now I can’t manage plugins with Calypso (the desktop app). It says I need to enable Jetpack Manage.

If I click the button to enable it, I get a redirect to the Jetpack dashboard. If I log into the server and use WP CLI to list the Jetpack modules, manage is not present.

Comparatively, I have some sites still on WP 4.9.9 and I can manage my plugins just fine. If I list modules on these sites, manage is present.

So somewhere between 4.9.9 and 5.2.1, this module disappeared and broke part of the Calypso functionality. I can’t seem to find any documentation on this, but I wondered if anyone at Jetpack has any insight into what’s going on. Thanks.
