I apologize for the delay in getting to you, but we were at a company meetup. In any case, I've looked at your site, and it has several javascript errors. Plus, the "copy-protection" plugins that you have installed (that prevent right-clicking and properly viewing the source) make things a bit trickier to troubleshoot. So, it seems to me that one of your plugins or possibly your theme is invoking that extra effect when clicking on an image in your gallery. Do you have any plugins installed that might be doing that? Is your theme a commercial theme, or is it one that I can download and try out myself? I do see carousel-related css here:

at the very end of the file. Maybe comment out or remove that CSS to see if that helps?
