I just switched to twentyeleven theme and the problem disappeared. The theme I use is a premium with functionalities to display photos, that I progressively "simplified" by tweaking code in order to get what I wanted. Since I ain't no php or js master I am not very sure how to dequeue unnecessary js sripts.
